Cape Tribulation Information
Daintree Cape Tribulation Heritage Lodge & Spa is an Australian cape tribulation
rainforest spa resort offering luxury boutique accommodation for that
perfect getaway or retreat. Heritage Lodge is located at the base of
majestic Thornton Peak and consists of 16 acres of pristine Rainforest. It
adjoins Cooper Creek, and the rear border is the cape tribulation Cape Tribulation
National Park.
The
Cape
Tribulation
coast is where the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree rainforest meet, the
only place on earth where two World Heritage areas exist side by side. It is
located 110km north of Cairns, via the Cook Highway. One of the most
biologically diverse areas in the world, the Cape Tribulation area was
included in the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area in 1988.
The area in which Daintree National Park is located has one of the wettest
climates in Australia. During the “wet season”, from December to April,
there are heavy, frequent downpours. Maximum temperatures through the wet
season range from 27 to 33 degrees Celsius, with humidity often exceeding 80
percent.
The cooler, drier months, from May to September, are the best time to visit.
The weather is pleasantly warm during this time, with reduced humidity and
the maximum temperature averaging 26 degrees Celsius.
The cape tribulation in Australia provides one of the greatest examples
of tropical environment in the world. It is part of a region in Tropical
North Queensland called the “Wet Tropics.” It receives vast amounts of rain,
however this usually occurs in torrential downpours that last only a few
hours at a time. When it's not raining, usually the sun is out in full force
highlighting the vibrant colours of the rainforest and the sea.
Things to do at Cape Tribulation
Go exploring the many rock pools of Cooper Creek, spot wildlife on our
rainforest tracks or simply enjoy the surroundings poolside or in the
serenity of your private verandah.Take a 2 hour rock hopping hike to the
150m cascade of Alexandra Falls which can be seen from Heritage Lodge. Not
for the faint hearted but highly recommended. Packed lunches available.
Day trips for diving and snorkelling depart from Cape Tribulation with a
choice of leisurely sailing or powered vessels. Trips provide full
facilities for introductory or certified diving and lunch, snorkelling and
transfers from Heritage Lodge are included.
Take a Cooper Creek Cruise for croc spotting at its best! The lower Cooper
Creek is home to around 30 crocodiles and also to what have been recognised
as some of the most pristine mangrove habitats in Australia. The only boat
permitted into this World Heritage area. Guided day and night rainforest
walks are available as well as a couple of boardwalks roadside. Cape
Tribulation Horse Rides will take you on an adventure through rainforest and
beach. Enjoy morning tea and a swim.
Daintree- Cape Tribulation Heritage Lodge & Spa is not just a resort
offering accommodation, it's an experience.

The coastline between the Daintree River and Cooktown north of Cairns in Far North Queensland. Cape Tribulation is a rare example of the co-existence of two of the world's most diverse ecosystems, the tropical rainforest and coral reef. The Daintree and Cape Tribulation rainforest is one of the oldest in the world, with a high proportion of primitive species, and was given World Heritage status in 1988. Your experienced guide will give a full interpretation of this rainforest and will expand on the geographical and historical features of the region. Cape Tribulation is known to the locals as "Cape Trib". On your Daintree River cruise your guide will help you find Estuarine crocodiles basking on the banks, egrets, kites and other bird life overhead or an Amethystine python in the tree tops. British naturalist, David Attenborough, described his time spent in the Daintree rainforest as "One of the most magical experiences of my life". Cape Tribulation - Bed and Breakfast Accommodation - B&B - Daintree Rainforest
http://www.capetrib.com.au/ Cape Tribulation Bed and Breakfast accommodation and Exotic Fruit Tasting at the edge of the Daintree rainforest at Cape Trib Exotic Fruit Farm an exotic tropical fruit orchard, located in the heart of Cape Tribulation
Over the last 10 years, we have collected seed from around the world and planted an exotic tropical fruit orchard at Cape Tribulation, with more than 100 different species and over 2000 fruit trees from the Amazon, South East Asia, and the Caribbean.
We have chosen to set up an organic farm and apply the philosophy of permaculture to Cape Trib Exotic Fruit Farm. We needed to develop a system which copied the rainforest and provided a supply of nutrients to the orchard trees in rotting material and vegetative matter. To this end large numbers of legume trees, bananas and legume ground covers were planted through the orchard to creat a food forest, and provide a nitrogen supply for the plants.
In 1996, as our trees started to produce enough quanitities of fruit we decided to offer an exotic fruit tasting to visitors who were interested in unusual fruit and permaculture. Hundreds of visitors from around the world have arrived on our doorstep at Cape Tribulation, and we have enjoyed watching them discover for themselves the delights of eating exotic tropical fruit. You can read some the comments from visitors in our guestbook.
