Daintree Rainforest Information
Daintree Cape Tribulation Heritage Lodge & Spa is an Australian Daintree
rainforest spa resort offering luxury boutique accommodation for that
perfect getaway or retreat. Heritage Lodge is located at the base of
majestic Thornton Peak and consists of 16 acres of pristine Rainforest. It
adjoins Cooper Creek, and the rear border is the Daintree Cape Tribulation
National Park.
The Daintree Rainforest north of Cairns in Tropical Far North Queensland Australia is one
of the most diverse and beautiful places in the world. It is home to the
largest range of rare plants and animals on earth, and all are found within
the largest rainforest in Australia - an area spanning about 1200 square
kilometres. That's an incredible 0.2% of the landmass of Australia. It is
also a World Heritage listed site as an example of ongoing ecological and
biological processes, an example of outstanding natural phenomena, and
because it contains significant habitats for conservation of biological
diversity.
The Daintree Rainforest contains 30% of frog, marsupial and reptile
species in Australia, and 65% of Australia's bat and butterfly species. 20%
of bird species in the country can be found in this area. And it all lives
in an area that takes up 0.2% of the landmass of Australia.
The beaches of the Daintree Rainforest are rated among the most spectacular
in the world. They are famous because of the tropical warmth, sunshine and
crystal clear water. One of the most wonderful features of Daintree beaches
is the isolation and peace due to the lack of people.
The Daintree Rainforest in Australia provides one of the greatest examples
of tropical environment in the world. It is part of a region in Tropical
North Queensland called the Wet Tropics. It receives vast amounts of rain,
however this usually occurs in torrential downpours that last only a few
hours at a time. When it's not raining, usually the sun is out in full force
highlighting the vibrant colours of the rainforest and the sea.
Things to do in the Daintree Rainforest
There are so many things to see and do in the Daintree Rainforest and
surroundings. There are hiking trails, scenic lookouts, camping sites,
picnic tables and irresistable swimming holes. In addition, visitors to the
area can stay in eco-friendly accommodation and eat at cafes and restaurants
that specialise in local delicacies.
The Daintree has everything a wilderness lover can ask for. But the most
important feature is the exotic flora and fauna. If you want to be chewed on
by a croc, chomped on by a snake or nibbled by a spider, the Daintree
Rainforest could be just what you are looking for.
Daintree-Cape Tribulation Heritage Lodge & Spa is not just a resort
offering accommodation, it's an experience.

Daintree Rainforest Beaches
The beaches of the Daintree Rainforest are rated among the most spectacular in the world. The tropical warmth combined with dazzling sunshine and crystal clear calm water makes you wonder if this is what heaven could be like. One of the most wonderful features of Daintree beaches is the lack of people. Stretching for miles, you can cast your eyes along the golden sand and not see a single soul - except perhaps your soul mate.
The only serious safety concern when swimming at beaches in the Daintree Rainforest area are marine stingers. During the summer months of the year (November to March), the prevalence of jellyfish makes swimming in the ocean dangerous, and even life threatening. Visitors are advised to stay out of the water completely during these times. Most the beaches in the Daintree region are very similar - golden sand, calm blue water and mostly deserted. They are pristine.
